Caroline Shaw a.k.a. “The Wedding Dresser” set the tone for this spectacular bridal couture shoot at The Hyatt Mag Mile. Her inspiration was “The New White Tie”, and our jaws nearly dropped when she walked in the door with this magnificent Ersa Atelier ball gown from Dimitra’s Bridal.
Truly stunning, and fit for Grace Kelly herself, this gown needed a stunning and regal model to pull off this look. Jessica Klaas from Agency Galatea brought it. She has a modern day Grace Kelly elegance, a megawatt smile, and is as graceful as a ballerina.
My job here as a makeup artist was to create a refined, sculpted look that complimented her captivating beauty – not over power it. Too much dramatic makeup here would have ruined the elegance of the gown and her sophisticated look. When wearing a voluminous white ball gown the bright lip directs focus to her face.
The second set of photos use the Pantone color of 2015, Marsala, on the lip. The bold lip was paired with a soft golden eye, and a slightly more dramatic black winged liner to balance the look. This is perfect for the bold, adventurous bride who wants to step outside of the box.
I must say – I am swooning over these photos! Our team nailed this shoot. Photographer Emily Gualdoni is a true talent and one to watch here in Chicago.
