Two to three months before your wedding date, I will send a wedding day makeup schedule you will be able to distribute to your guests. Any fine-tuning of the schedule can be worked out at this time.
A few days before your wedding day, I will send the final email confirming contact info and your location at the venue. When you check-in to the venue, please have them bring a tall barstool to your room for makeup. Most Chicago area Hotels and wedding venues are familiar with the needs of Brides and will have extension chords for hairstylists, mirrors, tall chairs for makeup, etc.
Makeup artists will arrive 15 minutes prior to the set start time to set up their equipment. Usually right in front of a window, as daylight is always best for makeup application. If needed, we will bring portable lights.
Please have your guests arrive before their appointment times with clean, moisturized skin and no sunscreen.
When you are in the makeup chair, please refrain from cell phone use. This slows down the process, and can cause delays in scheduling.
We advise that the Bride have her makeup done second to last. That way, she can get into her gown without having to rush, while the last person is having her makeup done. Please consult with your photographer to determine timing of photos.
Mother of The Bride is recommended to have her makeup done either before the Bride, or at the same time, if there is more than one artist. That way, the MOB will be available and camera-ready if the Bride needs help getting into her gown.
Have guests bring their favorite lip color, blotting paper, or their favorite powder for touch-ups later in the evening. They may need a quick powder after an hour on the dance floor!
Remember, this is your time to relax, breathe, and have your makeup done before you walk down the aisle. Let the day unfold and enjoy!
